Courage

Frida Kahlo - Self-Portrait (1926)
Courage arises from its apparent absence. It can't be born from anything else.

It is brought forth with a simple choice. If you find yourself without courage, just conjure a short list of your greatest fears.

Choose one, and step toward it. Courage instantaneously arises.

It cannot resist. It must respond to the act of stepping forward.

Do not be DIScouraged by the simultaneous arising of even more fear.

Fearlessness is not the absence of fear; it is simply the conscious act of stepping forward despite the fear.

Courage. From the root "core" as in "corazon" and as the Goddess "Kora."

Courage is not "found" in the human heart, courage IS the human heart.

You could not exist without it, because it is one of the indivisible elements of your innermost "core." You just have to recognize it.
